Cowboys....

This Texas cowboy wants the one woman he can’t have, that’s what he thinks… Jaron Lambert has his pick of willing women, but he only has eyes for lovely, young Mariah Stanton, the sister of his sister in law. For years, he’s tried to stay away. He thought she was too young for him and that the age difference would be too … well awkward. But on one perfect, tender night they set aside their nine-year age difference and indulge in everything they’ve both been wanting. But Jaron is still dealing with the effects of his dark, troubled past. He can’t tell Mariah the truth so he has to tell her their night was a mistake. Because falling for her is the one thing he can never do… Mariah on the other hand, jobless at that moment takes on his challenge to become his housekeeper, although she can’t cook. In this way she can challenge him to accept her as his woman with whom he can share his secrets, while Jaron refuses that to all cost. At that moment I got stuck in the book and didn’t want to finish it anymore. I think it’s admiring that Kathie DeNosky completed the series of these rugged Texan gentleman, raised by their foster parent, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed about Mariah. My morals were kicking in and I couldn’t read further on. I think if you can’t do a job where you were hired for, why are you doing it. Maybe it was because that was the way she could be with the man she loved, but it missed something – a righteousness maybe which would allow me to read on. The rest of the series were a better read for me. Challenging and fun to read. I tried to postpone my review. procrastinated where I could, but I had said that I wanted to do a review and I am sorry I can’t be that thrilled about this book.
