Overcoming Darkness

This was my first encounter with the writing style of Anna Edwards, and plunging into part 4 of a series was not quite easy. I loved the book, no question about that, but not knowing the writing style, it has made for some confusing moments. What I found confusing was the lack of transition in scenes. The scenes were beautifully written, but I missed something. Like a scene towards the other scene is not written out fully, difficult to describe.

The story starts when Sonia Anderson starts her new job, the one that will change her life. Sonia is a bodyguard, well trained and she is highly recommended to guard Amy, the pretty young girlfriend of billionaire James North. Sonia however has secrets and scars, a representation of a world beyond her control. She meets Matthew Carter, the bodyguard of James North and an ex MI5 agent who feels responsible for the death of his colleague and wife, his secrets he can’t control.

In the story you’ll encounter love, Master and submissive scenes but also scenes of violence, loneliness and hurt, but love conquers all. Because when you can afford to lose control of your darkness, you can afford to lose control of your past, then the love you find will give you freedom.
