A new lifestyle, a different life?
I loved reading this trilogy! Reading about Meredith reading was actually a bit strange, but then I discovered her habits: she hiding her reading preferences from her husband, or actually hiding everything from her husband. What I found confusing was the way her husband became a Dom all of a sudden, the tall, depressed, brooding man was gone and an endearing and controlling Dom stepped in his place. I was as confused as Meredith about the suddenness of his change but it also fitted in the picture of the wife hiding her wishes and preferences for her husband and they both living together but not knowing what went on with the other person.
Meredith and Paolo have been married for a long time. They were involved in a car accident which left Paolo unable to use his legs. Meredith escapes her life with a brooding and depressed husband by reading BDSM romances. She discovers a deep yearning in herself to have such a relationship and she researches the lifestyle on the internet and discovers a forum where she can ask questions and engages herself with the people on the forum. She seeks the thrill of an e-relationship to discover if she likes to be a part in a D/s relationship. She talked to Paolo about this, but he is reluctant about the BDSM world and she never talked to him again about it. When the e-relation with her Dom is revealed what will Paolo do. Will their marriage hold?
In book 2 and 3 the D/s relationship is further explored and both learn what to expect and what to gain from the lifestyle and from each other.
