A second chance
I loved this second-chance story! Two people who were very hurt by their (lack of) actions in the past coming together again and the passion flares up again, realising that they still belong together, I loved every moment of tension, hot passion and awkwardness reading about Cameron and Maddie.
Maddie is for Cameron the one woman he never can forget, the one he still pines for after nine years, the only woman he ever loved. The reason why she left was hurtful and so abrupt that since there was no warning, he can’t forget her.
Now, nine years later, she’s back. She desperately needs money and I need a fiancée. For Cameron thinks he needs closure, simple as that. But he forgot that things never have been that simple where Maddie is involved.
Maddie thinks Cameron left her by not responding to her. Okay, she runs away when faced with trouble, but Cameron was always too good for her, he was her refuge. Now he’s back, became a millionaire and he’s sexier than ever. He wants us to pretend we’re engaged and that I am still in love with him, except I won’t be pretending. Why do you think I don’t date, at all?
Now the question arises, can these two people who were in love with each other once, pretend they’re in love? Does the hurt of nine years ago still affect their being together?
