Pride and love

Oh my, she did it again. Another hit for Karen Rock. I loved this book, couldn’t put it down! This time in her series of the Cade brothers, their neighbour and archenemy Cole Loveland has his second chance on love, and in the meanwhile there are three storylines to unravel and follow: The story of how the feud started between the Cades and Lovelands, the tragic love story of a Cade and a Loveland (Everett Loveland and Maggie Cade), the second chance story of Cole’s father and mother of the Cade-clan (Boyd and Joy) and last but certainly not least the second chance love story between Cole and Kat(ie)Lynn. I loved all the stories, the intrigue, the mysteries of old times revisited and unravelled. It’s also a story of how pride can prevent you from love and happiness, an inside story about how people perceive their surroundings and families. About hot-headedness and temper preventing people to listen and ponder about themselves and others.

In short the story of A Cowboy’s Pride is about KatLynn, trying to save her and other people’s jobs, who’s going back to the town where she was born to investigate the Cade – Loveland Feud. In that investigation she can’t prevent meeting again with Cole Loveland, her former fiancé. In order to protect his father, Cole thinks, he has to do the investigation together with her. Old flames and passion rekindle, but trust each other again is hard for Cole – as he felt he had lost KatLynn to her work and career before. Perhaps a time to remember and believe that true love can conquer all – even distances and careers.
